T-minus 6 days...

In the last post, I mentioned it was crunch time. That was nothing compared to now. It's real crunch time- as in I-need-to-figure-everything-out-now, or-it's-never-going-to-get-figured-out time (that was a lot of dashes...haha). Kind of like how Woody felt on that conveyor belt that was smashing everything up in Toy Story 3...or if you haven't seen that think The Brave Little Toaster. Either one is good.

Christmas and my birthday have provided me with all the necessities for an extensive trip abroad-luggage, cash, a kindle, cash, new shoes, and some cash. Today my mother and I hit up Target and got the random items on my list, such as bio-degradable soap and tons of chocolate to give as a gift for my host family. I even got a bunch of glow sticks and little wooden airplanes to give to the children at the village I visit for the latter part of the trip.

Now that I have all the supplies, the real magic is fitting everything into one suitcase, all under 50 lbs. Cutting back on my clothing is going to be very hard. My shampoo and conditioner alone probably weigh 60 lbs. I'm going to need some divine help with that one.

I have 4 more days to pack, and then its off to NYC with the family to see In The Heights. After that, I'm thrown on a plane headed for Thailand, leaving JFK January 4th.

Please pray for me- that I will learn to stretch my limits, learn more about God, learn how to better love humanity, and that I will have some way to contact back home!

2 Weeks....

Well...it's crunch time. I'm leaving for Thailand in two weeks. I have no idea what to think at this point. Am I packing the right things? Am I going to bring everything I need? Will I even have access to Internet in order to write this blog?

I am very excited, anxious, and nervous for what lies ahead. It's very surreal that I am going to be spending the next 5 months in a country so different from my own. I wish I was there now so I could skip all this waiting around time.

This blog is where I hope that you, my friends and family, will be able to see what I am doing while I am abroad. I plan to post as much as possible, because I love sharing my experiences with people (if you know me at all, you are aware of that..haha).

And now comes two weeks of packing, stressing, and waiting until I board that plane at JFK on January 4th!
